Coyote and Turtle

Ruapehu have been working on this presentation for literacy it is about a Coyote and a Turtle. The turtle went on a journey to the desert because he wanted to see what the desert felt like but he didn't stop to think how dangerous the desert was. This is an amazing article to read.

Yanomami

this presentation is about yanomami people. It shows where they live and all sorts of things about yanomami people and make me understand more about their culture.

  A Time with Friends

On Tuesday the 27th of October Miss Tele’a and the teachers of team 5 decided to create some activities for the year 7 and 8 students of Pt England School. It was called  the AMAZING RACE. The amazing race has different activities like photo booth, brain bust, pea pipes, cookie face challenge and all sorts of fantastic activities they have created.

Miss Tele’a and Miss Misela divided room 3 into six different groups the first three groups they were room 3A and the rest of the groups were room 3B. I was in a group with 5 other people and they were Hannah, Josephine, Ana, Jennifer, Jordenne and me but the amazing thing about my group was we were all  best friends. We were all excited that we all get to be in the same groups.

We were all gathered into the streets so Miss Tele’a can talk us through everything we will do she gave everyone a timetable to where we will go for our rotations. First my group went to our first rotation and it was the brain bust in room 1, for our first rotation we had Miss Fuamatu. Miss Fuamatu gave us the instructions to what we will do she told us that we had to pick one person from our group to be a runner and guess who was the runner me. Miss Fuamatu gave everyone 5 question to answer but she only gave us ten minutes to answer all the questions but we only knew one question and that was all we knew and then the time was up we had to move to our next rotation.

Our second rotation was photo booth with Miss Tele’a, Miss Tele’a was so amazing she gave us instruction to make  different poses it was funny face, creative photo, serious face and smile. My favorite pose was the funny face every person in our team came with different funny facial.

Sadly it was times up it was time to move on to our third rotation, our third rotation was the cookie face challenge with Miss Flavelle we had to place a cookie on our forehead and we must use our whole face to make sure it gets into our mouth. Everyone was trying their hardest to get the cookie into their mouth but the sad thing was no one couldn't get a single cookie into their mouth.

While we were on our third round Miss Flavelle said that it was time to go to our last rotation for the day we were with Miss Misela and Miss Hockly. At their station we each get a bowl of peas by using straws and whoever gets the most into their bowl wins the game, this game was really tiring for me because I used all my energy to suck the peas just to the tip of the straw so I can get to the other side and into our bowl.

As everyone was running back and forth and then Miss Misela gathered everyone so we may know who won, she announced the winner and I was so joyful and so was the rest of my group. Suddenly it was time to heed back to class to get ready for lunch time, I was so glad that I got to spend more time with my friends and getting to know them very well it was so enjoyable.

 

#The History of Superman

Today's inquiry we have been about Superman. We watched a video to find out information about him. Our  especially looked at how he adapted from being a normal to a superhero. Here are the questions that was given to us.

History of Superman... 

• man of steel...red underwear or blue underwear? Why did it change? because it was uncool for this generation and wanted something more sleek.
• Krypton - what is it?   Krypton is the planet that superman was originally from which is his birth place.
• Why was it important to Superman?  because his parents died saving him he wanted to honour his parents by building a statue of them hold up the planet krypton.
• What part did Superman's parents have in his survival? They sent him to earth with a homesick spaceship.
• Original powers? Jump high and run fast enough to past an express train. Did he fly in the beginning?No because he only jump of one eighth of a mile.
• What changed in term of his super powers?He became from not being able to fly from flying. Superman has more strength.
• Daily planet - his workplace...how does he adapt between his human workplace and being a superhero?In his normal life he acts natural, looks natural and talks like a normal person

Term 4 Immersion Assembly

Term 4 Immersion Assembly

On the first day of term 4 Pt England School had an immersion assembly so we know what we are learning about and our main focus for this term is survivor, outwit, outsmart and outlast.

As we sat down everyone was so bored because all we did was sit and listen to the song that was playing. Then everyone got so excited because the immersion assembly was about to start, Mr Burt came walking in wearing  funky clothes and a parrot on his head.  Mr Burt played a video that he made himself. It was about a fiapoko parrot that lived in Pt Dingaling, one day the parrot came to a house  he was so annoying and so loud he said i’m the fiapoko parrot.

As team one had their turn Mrs George explained to everyone that they are going to the zoo to learn about the animals and how they adapt. When she finished talking Miss King shouted very loud “Is that all Miss George we want more” Miss George picked some students to have a karaoke competition and whoever wins gets to go with team 1 to the zoo. Everyone got more excited because Mr Burt introduced team 2 and team 3, team 2 and team 3 are actually learning about dinosaurs and how they adapt.

Now team 4 was up their short movie was a funny video because they had to guess what was behind them but they did not know what was really behind them, my favourite one was one student thought that she at candy land but she was really inthe sea with sharks.

It really really exciting for me because it was team 5 up and all the teachers represented different part of the country it was very expiring because they were talking about how to adapt in the living world and that is our main focus for this term.

Then we got to the ending of our assembly everyone was very expiring of what all the teachers were making us understand and it was so amazing.
